3.4.2. Issue

In order to assign the correct issue classification for the initiative, it is important to determine which is the ultimate goal of the activity.

The issues are differents between LBG and ONLBG, next to each issues we will indicate it

Education (LBG and ONLBG)

Contributions to schools, universities or other organizations or projects that promote, sustain and increase individual and collective knowledge and understanding of specific areas of study, skills and expertise. This can be formal ‘classroom’ style education or more informal forms of developing knowledge.
* Educational activities for older people, in relation to the ultimate goal of the initiative, can be classified as socio-economic development, social welfare, or other categories.
**Support for sports centres to promote sport for children and young people, as long as they are not professional sports.

Health (LBG and ONLBG)

Contributions to hospitals, health trusts and other health related organizations that prevent or relieve sickness, disease or human suffering, as well as promoting health and healthy lifestyles

Socio-economic development (LBG y ONLBG)

Those actions that are focused on the social and economic development of a group or a region. The actions and activities include:

Environment (LBG and ONLBG)

All those activities related to the conservation and improvement of Nature are included, both directed to environmental spaces, and to the care and conservation of the diversity of animal species.

Art and culture (LBG and ONLBG)

Support for institutions (theaters, museums, public galleries etc.) that promote or protect arts activities, whether visual arts or the performing arts such as music, dance and theatre. Also includes activities or organizations that promote or protect ‘Heritage’ such as might be regarded as part of a country’s local or national
history:

Social welfare (LBG)

Support to organizations or activities that promote or address the interests of those in need in society and facing hardship by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage

It may include: residential spaces, schooling units, pre-employment training, assessment and medical diagnosis. Likewise, this category includes activities related to the temporary assistance of people who, due to an emergency situation, need a period of normalization until their emancipation.
The actions and activities that are included are

Personal autonomy and independent life of groups with difficulties (ONLBG)

Support to organizations or activities that promote or address the interests of those in need in society and facing hardship by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage

It may include: residential spaces, schooling units, pre-employment training, assessment and medical diagnosis. Likewise, this category includes activities related to the temporary assistance of people who, due to an emergency situation, need a period of normalization until their emancipation.
The actions and activities that are included are

Social integration
Support for people with disabilities, homeless, elderly people and other groups at risk of social exclusion
Residential centers for people with difficulties
Temporary shelter programs for people in situation of social emergency

Humanitarian aid and Emergency Relief (LBG and ONLBG)

Contribution to initiatives to mitigate the damages of natural disasters and armed conflicts:

Employment and entrepreneurship (ONLBG)

Initiatives related to the enhancement of employment. The actions and activities that are included are:

Institutional strengthening (ONLBG)

Activities focused on strengthening or improving government and performance of public or private institutions. Actions and activities that are included are:

Strengthening active citizenship (ONLBG)

Promotion of human rights, public policies and citizen participation This area includes all those activities aimed at raising awareness among society and public opinion about the need to defend and promote democratic rights and values, as well as the participation of citizens in the supervision and management of public affairs. The actions included are:

Diversity and family strengthening (ONLBG)

This category includes actions that contribute to favoring the balance between the professional facet and the other dimensions of the person, to non-discrimination among people, by their race, nationality, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation or any other, with the aim of supporting diversity, family, positive parenting, health and well-being, the attenuation of population aging, the care and attention of dependents and business competitiveness among others.

Other (LBG and ONLBG)

Support for activities that cannot be classified elsewhere


A second issue may be assigned if the initiative has more than one purpose.

That is, if an initiative has two aims, for example, the improvement of education and also of health, it can be put as a primary issue: education (70%) and secondary issue: health (30%)

The sum of the percentages of the issues must be 100%
